(Beat the crowd) All About Audio Conversion

By Garrett36 Pierson36

Before people learned about new audio formats and new audio conversion software, the CD was the main tool or medium if a person wanted to listen to music, audio books, and educational lessons. This obviously beats reading page after page of books, notes, and instructional materials and keeps the person active and attentive since he or she is exposed to another person’s voice. But listening to music or audio lessons could only be done if you had a stereo or a CD player of your own with accompanying headsets and earphones, so people were still limited at some level when it comes to listening to audio. But as technology became more developed and sophisticated, different aspects of how media is being used transformed as well. This includes the use of audio files and it is seen through people learning to convert audio.

What do you mean by “convert audio”? This is explained through a process known as audio conversion in which raw digital audio files, which are usually extracted or ripped from the CD-ROM, are converted into another type of output, whether the chosen format is .wav, .mp3, .mp4, etc. These formats are normally compatible to media players being used in one’s PC, giving people the power to manipulate the audio files in such a way that it is arranged, rearranged, edited, and played according to how the user would want it to be. To convert audio files into other audio formats, you need audio conversion software to do the job for you. Normally audio conversion only takes a few minutes, but it would also depend on how large the audio file is, so if you’re converting a long audio book into a different format for your media player to be able to play it, expect it to last for about 5-10 minutes or more.

So where exactly can you find a program that can convert audio files into higher quality formats? The internet is definitely the source for direct downloads of audio conversion software, so all you have to do is buy the product and download it off the site itself. If you’re lucky enough, you might discover a very generous developer who distributes conversion software for media such as audio and video completely and for free. This is a very rare discovery, of course, since almost 70% of audio conversion software downloads could contain viruses, spyware, or fake software after all.

The best way to avoid these phony downloads is to research and browse through forums and review sites that talk about the pros and cons of different audio conversion software. These reviews or articles are very useful because these are written by people who have used the software before you, so they have an idea of what the program is all about and how to use it effectively. Don’t skip out on details such as free trials and payment methods because you might end up a victim of a scam if you don’t pay attention to such details.

Remakes That Were Better Than Their Predecessors

By Rhonda Mitchel

It seems lately that Hollywood is lacking in creativity due to the fact that major studios keep going back to the well to remake films that were already classics. It is kind of hard to pinpoint just where the craze began, but the effect that remakes have had on the film industry have been less than a positive change, often with people thinking that the remake ruined the original version. However, there are some remakes that have worked out very well that many say were even better than the original. Some are even saying the upcoming remake of the Wolfman may even outdo its predecessor. Here are some other films that were remakes, and were also good.

The Departed: The Departed was a star studded remake of the 2002 Hong Kong film Infernal Affairs. Infernal Affairs was a police drama about an undercover cop who is working the Triads, all the while the Triads have placed a mole into the police department as both men try to out each other. The film was remade in 2006 by acclaimed director Martin Scorsese. It received much critical praise, including winning Scorsese his first Academy Award for Best Director, and Best Picture of the Year.

Scarface: Scarface was a film directed by Brian DePalma, and based on the life of Al Capone, whose nickname was Scarface. The film was a remake of a previous film of the same title, but the movies actually bear little resemblance to each other in terms of story, setting and characters, with the character’s name being Tony Montana instead of Al Capone. The film went on to become a classic in its own right, and the phrase Say hello to my little friend, has become one of the most widely used quotes in movie history.

The Thing: The 1950s film The Thing From Another World was fairly straight forward science fiction fare. It was based on a short story by John W. Campbell, but did not follow the story exactly. However, John Carpenter’s remake borrowed much more from the original short story and has become a modern day horror classic, featuring some of the best, and most frightening special effects ever put on screen, even rivaling some of today’s horror films. Almost unfortunately, another remake is being planned, but hopefully it will not come to fruition.

So it just goes to show that it is possible for a good remake of a film to be done, but there needs to be as much, if not more, work put into it as there was in the original.

How to Increase Hits on MySpace

By Rocky Mcmahon

MySpace is an exciting online community where members can make new friends, reconnect with old friends, network or even find potential romantic partners. While there are some MySpace members who join the community simply for the ability to stay in touch with their old friends and are not looking to make new friends. These members may keep their websites private to not allow other users to view their personal information and may not spend a great deal of time visiting public websites of other members. However, most MySpace members are interested in making a great deal of friends online and are always looking to generate more traffic to their website.

Create an Interesting MySpace Website

One of the simplest ways MySpace members can generate increased traffic to their website is to create a website which is both aesthetically appealing and interesting to others. The aesthetic appeal of a website can greatly influence the amount of repeat traffic a MySpace website receives. For example members who use garish colors and fonts which are too small or otherwise difficult to read may not receive repeat traffic even if the content of their website is very interesting and engaging. This is because other members may lose interest in the website quickly.

The other part of an excellent website design is interesting and intriguing content. A website which is aesthetically appealing may entice visitors to peruse the content but if it is simply not interesting and engaging the visitors are not likely to spend much time on the website and are also not likely to return. However, MySpace members who fill their website with exciting content are likely to keep visitors interested. When visitors are interested in the content they are likely to return and also to encourage others to visit the website as well.

Visit Members’ Websites

Another way to generate increased traffic to your MySpace website is by visiting the websites of other members. You can use the search feature to find other members who share your interests. By visiting their websites you will get a better idea of whether or not you are interested in being friends with these members. When you encounter other members you might be interested in meeting you can sent them an email or instant message commenting on their website and asking to be added to their network of friends. You can also suggest they visit your website as well. Those who make an effort to meet other members are likely to increase their own web site traffic.

Invite Friends to Your MySpace Website

Finally, MySpace members can generate additional traffic to their website by inviting others to visit them. They can speak directly to friends and family members and encourage them to view their website. Also, those who participate in other online communities such as message boards may include a link to their MySpace website in their signature so those who want to learn more about them can visit their MySpace profile.

MySpace also has an invite feature which enables members to send messages to others to encourage them to start a MySpace account. Members who have friends or family members who do not belong to the MySpace community can send them one of these invitations to encourage them to participate. The invitation can include a link to the members MySpace website to give the others an idea of what MySpace really is.
